Pursuit of Happiness (ft. MGMT And Ratatat)  - Kid Cudi

A couple of months ago I posted this song under a false sense of happiness, but now since then this song has taken an entirely new meaning for me. I realized that real happiness comes from a true understanding of life. People say ignorance is bliss, but when it comes down to it ignorance does not end up to a true feeling of serenity. Kid Cudi says it in this song “I’ll be fine once I get it”. The pursuit of happiness, in which everyone in this world goes through, is not a pursuit of finding things that make you feel good or searching for people to be with that brighten your day. The pursuit of happiness is much deeper than that, it’s about developing a true understanding of life and how you live it, with whom you live it with, and where you live it. It encompasses everything in your life and once you understand that every thing that happens in life, every single experience bad or good that you go through is meant for you to live a happier life. We’ll all get it sooner or later, we’ll all realize that the seemingly unfortunate things that happen are not failures but opportunities to learn from. I’m a person who demands a lot from life, I expect the best, and I’m only willing to receive the best. But throughout the life I have lived so far I have realized that everything and anything that happens, any bump or push I go through, any pitfall or peak is a goldmine of opportunity to ultimately get what you want. I’m on the pursuit of happiness like everyone else, eventually I’ll reach it but as of right now I’m enjoying this journey of new lessons and experiences.

“…everything that shine ain’t always gonna be gold.”

No Son of Mine Plays Oregon Trail Like That

But let me ask you this: How many spare wagon wheels do you think Michael Phelps takes with him? Why not push a naked, starving family to the brink of collapse and hunt your ass off for food all the way to Oregon? Isn’t that what Jordan would do?
